A short imaginal practice from the Saturday evening talk (track 17b). Treat it as an experiment – it takes a few minutes.
- Settle, take a deeper breath, and feel the energy of the whole body.
- Let an image form of how you see yourself in your practice. It might be a visual image, or a felt sense, or come through another sense. It might also be very neutral, or nothing. That’s fine too.
- Ask: what do you find beautiful about practice? What do you love about it? Let the image form or shift, and notice what you feel.
- Consider the sense of possibility. Where do you see the path going? Are you allowed to feel that something is possible for you?
- Feel into what you yearn for. What nourishes your soul? Can you allow yourself to feel that yearning?
- Notice whatever comes – images, thoughts, feelings, shifts in the body – and let it land.
- Afterwards you might carry the questions: what are you devoted to? What is one small next step?
